Teachers voice has a intimidating an angry personality but comes off with Fran as that guy who hypes up your peewee baseball game an embarrass your team

"Teacher's" voice sort of sounded like the same as that of Leo's from I'm Quitting Heroing, by a few octaves higher or lower.

i feel like maybe the dub voice for Fran is wrong, it seems to mature for Fran and she has lost some of her cuteness. i reckon Brittney Karbowski or Jad Saxton should have voiced Fran

Yeah, she sounds like a melancholy 20 year old to me. Normally I don't mind it when they don't quite fit...but its one of those cases where the voice just doesn't fit the character to me. I came here to rewatch the show cause im bored and saw the dub was out but I can't enjoy this one unfortunately. It's a shame cause i really prefer watching dub and watched to focus more on the visuals this time around instead of having my eyes glued to the bottom to read QQ.

Nah she's good she has a young tone with some dry reactions that work well with the Swords VA an with the different voice atmosphere it can have you experience an think of their relationship differently double the fun

It could be the portrayal... Especially in the scene where she is thinking of a name, she reminds me of Chise from Magus Bride and I think delivering the lines with a bit of that curious uncertainty (rather than the assertive directness) might hit a better mark.

Dunno though, I'd have to check out the dub to see what the producer/director wanted for this character. Edit: Just checked it out and yes, the main voice actress does have that curious uncertainty in her voice that I mentioned.

Such a good first episode! A rather refreshing take on how to approach and deal with salve owners.i like how Shishou jumped into action and killed that old man the second he started spewing the usual salve owner nonsense such a banger OST!

So Slow. I waited until sub complete 12 episodes then and decided to start watching it and finished the whole season 1 just yesterday thinking dub never release.
damn dub is slow. I just finished the anime yesterday and was thinking nah we don't have dub so let just finish the anime.

The new Shadow show took 13 of 20 episodes for the dub XD

I hate when they do the dub version but don't translate the Japanese writing within the scenes like they do on the subs. This is going to have A LOT of status screen scenes, checking their power and levels, and it's going to be like looking a wall ffs. Like if you're going to dub it, fu cking translate the words!

Yeah black summoner in particular was terrible for this

But the worst thing is they did translate it exactly one with mels introduction

Fran's voice in dubs sounded like that dark mage chic from Black Summoner. Sort of Fran sounded a bit older for her appearance and age. It doesn't change here that the best for is the ending theme, Strongly.
